Online Privacy 

At TheBANK of Edwardsville, confidentiality is a top priority when it comes to customer information. We do not collect any information from our web site without your knowledge...nor would we ever distribute or sell any information about our customers. We understand that you have placed your trust in us and we honor that relationship with the highest regard.

We have a variety of security features in place to assure that your account information on our Internet Banking Service remains confidential. Our customers' account numbers never appear on our Magic Online Internet Banking or our PayLink Online Bill Paying Service and any account information transmitted over the Internet is encrypted. Information that we require from customers when they sign up for either service also remains confidential. Applications submitted to us over the Internet are sent on a secure server that only we can access.

Whenever we request information from our customers in the form of a survey, that information also is protected. We do not require you to give us your name or E-mail address. Those questions are always optional. And we do not sell or provide any of our survey results to anyone. These results are simply used to improve our site and its features.

Our Web Site is designed to offer you information about TheBANK's products and services. This site does not contain information dealing with customer accounts.

Magic Online -- our Internet Banking Service -- has built-in security features to assure your information remains confidential:

  • Your account numbers never appear on Magic Online. That's why you choose how you would like your account names to appear on screen.
  • You have the option of changing your ID number and Password as often as you feel appropriate.
  • Your information on Magic Online is protected by Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology - the highest level of Internet security available.

When you sign up for Magic Online Banking, we'll give you a 12-character ID number and a four-digit Password.

Our Privacy Pledge

At TheBANK of Edwardsville, we know and understand how important protecting your financial privacy is to you. Concerns for customer privacy and confidentiality are cornerstones of banking. For these reasons, we have adopted the following privacy practices to assist our valued customers in understanding the measures we take to protect your personal financial information.

  • TheBANK of Edwardsville will collect, retain and use information about individual customers only where it believes it would be useful (and allowed by law) to administer its business.  We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:
    - Information we receive from you on applications and other forms;
    - Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others; and,
    - Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency.
  • TheBANK of Edwardsville will establish internal procedures that ensure a customer's financial information is accurate, current and complete in accordance with reasonable commercial standards. TheBANK of Edwardsville will respond to requests to correct inaccurate information in a timely manner.
  • TheBANK of Edwardsville will limit employee access to nonpublic personal information to those who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We will also educate our employees so they will understand the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy. TheBANK of Edwardsville will take appropriate disciplinary measures where necessary to enforce employee privacy responsibilities.

  • We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as permitted by law. However, we may disclose information we receive from you on applications and other forms, such as your name and address, to companies that perform marketing or other services on our behalf.
  • If personally identifiable customer information is provided to a third party, TheBANK of Edwardsville will make a reasonable attempt to ensure that the third party adheres to similar privacy principles that provide for keeping such information confidential.
Customer Inquiries 

As an additional way to protect our customers financial information, we are now asking customers to establish an account inquiry password for their accounts. We will simply ask you for your password when you call in the future to verify your identity before sharing any financial information.

Your password can be up to 15 numbers or letters. We suggest that you choose something that you will remember. An example of your exclusive password could be the name of a childhood pet. Please do not share it with anyone who is not an authorized signer on your account.

If you would like to set up a password on your accounts, simple call us at 618/659-4430 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Once you have called, we will mail you a form for you to choose your password. This form will need to be signed and returned to us.

U.S.A. Patriot Act

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering, we are required to ask for, verify and record information to confirm your identity.

What this means to you: When you open a deposit or trust account, a safe deposit box, or request a loan, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you.

We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.
