Cale Henke began his career in banking as a loan counselor in 2001 and worked his way up to vice president, commercial banking.

Throughout my career in banking, I’ve held positions from a part-time teller and loan counselor to my current position of VP/Commercial Banking. Each position helped me better understand the needs of both our clientele and the organization for which I worked.

The majority of my career has been spent in loan production and relationship expansion but was heavily influenced by my years spent as a loan counselor (Collections). Having the ability to work with clients struggling to make a monthly payment, creating payback plans and educating them of the necessary steps towards credit improvement have provided me with the tools to guide clients of today toward success.

Being exposed to banking and business my entire life led me to study business in college. While in college, studying business management, I worked as a bank teller. I enjoyed working with different levels of professionals, in many different industries. My interest in banking continued as I wanted to be more involved with lending and business expansion.

Working for TheBANK of Edwardsville provides a unique opportunity for employees to work with higher level of management regularly, while also getting to know them on a personal level.  Not just any employer provides an employee the opportunity to see or greet the executive team daily.

For me, personal success is the ability to lay the groundwork to help a client reach their long-term goals.  I see a referral from an existing client as a ‘thank you’ for helping them move in the right direction and an acceptance of the guidance provided. Success for my clients is defined by their ability to better understand, through education and guidance, the process of getting from where they are to where they want to be.

I treat each client as a relationship and not a transaction. When working with my clients, I look at a global perspective of the client and look for areas to improve their cash flow, by consolidating and reducing expenses in a shorter amount of time.

In the time that I’ve been with TheBANK, I’ve established many long-term client relationships.  Having these clients introduce me to other prospective clients as a trusted individual that works for the client shows the efforts put forth are appreciated.

I was raised on a grain farm and appreciate a hard day’s work. During spring planting and fall harvest, it’s not uncommon to spot me visiting farmers in my business clothes, helping load a planter or tarping a tractor trailer with them.

In 2006, I became a volunteer firefighter and obtained First Responder and Firefighter II certifications. Being part of this volunteer department is a way I can give back to my community, increase education and promote safety.
