A Note from the President
Summer is finally here! We hope you’re enjoying the warmweather,
family gatherings and the many community events the season has
to offer. It seems that summer is always an exciting and active time
in our local communities.
Spring was certainly an active time for Mother Nature in our area. Tornadoes,
strong winds and heavy rains caused plenty of property damage. Thankfully,
so far there have been no serious storm-related injuries reported locally. But the
heavy rains led to another danger – flooding – which brings to mind the changes
that are taking place nationally for homeowners who are required to have flood
insurance. TheBANK took a proactive approach over the past fewmonths to inform
our communities about the impending flood insurance changes which could result
in significant premium increases for some area residents. We’ve included that
information in this edition on Page 14. Please be sure to take a look.
With the worst of the weather hopefully behind us, we can turn our attention to a
favorite summertime activity – vacationing! Many of us enjoy traveling, whether
it’s a short trip or an extended stay. It’s a great way to escape the day-to-day grind,
recharge the batteries and, most importantly, spend quality time with friends and
family. That’s why we were excited when Dea Hoover, owner of tour company Are
We There Yet?, LLC., which organizes all the trips for TheCLUB members, offered to
write a guest feature story for this quarter’s TheCLUB Quarterly Magazine. In her
article (beginning on Page 8) Dea reveals her travel philosophy and offers some
great tips about planning, packing and budgeting for your trip. If you’re planning
to get away for some much-needed rest and relaxation this summer, be sure to
check out her article.
Whatever your plans may be in the coming months, we hope you have a safe and
happy summer. And as always, we truly appreciate your relationship with us and
sincerely thank you for being our customer!
