Equifax Breach

Equifax Breach

On Sept. 7, Equifax – one of three major credit reporting agencies with data from 820 million consumers and more than 91 million businesses worldwide – announced that the records of approximately 143 million Americans were breached between May and July of this year. Hackers accessed personal information including Social Security numbers, birth dates, addresses, and in some cases, driver’s license numbers. In addition, credit card numbers for more than 200,000 people appear to have been stolen, along with dispute documents with personal identifying information for about 182,000 people.
