Linda Funk Celebrates 50 Years in Banking

TheBANK of Edwardsville honored Linda Funk for 50 years in banking on Thursday, Aug. 29, with a reception at the Alton Center.

Funk began her career in banking at Illinois State Bank in August 1969. She remained with Illinois State Bank, which would become Magna Bank, then Union Planters Bank, and finally Regions Bank, until she retired in October 2018.

At the urging of Dwight Werts, President and CEO of Werts Welding in Wood River, TheBANK’s Senior Vice President of Retail Banking Rob Schwartz offered Funk a position in business development and she joined TheBANK in December 2018.

Schwartz and Werts each spoke at the reception about Linda’s five decades of dedication and service to her clients and community while Julie Clark, VP of Bank and Partner Relations with the Illinois Bankers Association, presented Funk with a certificate honoring her career.
