TheBANK Presents Financial Literacy Awards at AHS

TheBANK, along with Lieutenant Governor of Illinois Evelyn Sanguinetti, celebrated the achievements of students at Alton High School who have completed TheBANK’s Financial Literacy Program.  School dignitaries who also spoke at the event were Alton High School Principal Mike Bellm, Alton Superintendent Mark Cappel, and TheBANK’s Senior Vice President of Retail Banking Rob Schwartz. Also in attendance were Alton Mayor Brant Walker, EverFi Schools Manager Ben Gwynne, and Sandy Smith, AVP at TheBANK of Edwardsville.

The speakers focused on how financial education can empower the students and prepare them to build a brighter and more stable financial future.

Rob and Mike were presented with Innovation in Financial Education Awards as well.

There was some time devoted for students to ask a range of questions for the panel from financial topics to career choices before certificates were presented to the students.
